The ICONS of Pittsburgh launched their fourth volume last week at the Andy Warhol, and it was a party you didn’t want to miss. If you don’t live in Pittsburgh and have not yet heard of this brand, ICONS is a book dedicated to the movers and shakers of The Steel City.
I covered the launch of the second volume a couple of years ago, you can read that post here.
Since the ICONS launch in 2015, there have been many well known and upcoming Pittsburgh professionals that have been highlighted in the four books, and the brand has expanded to Youngstown and NYC.
You’ll see many new faces in this volume, and some you already may be familiar with! A few of those that have been featured are:
SOYIL by Greta
Vino Glam by Jay Lioon
“Esthetics by Esther” a wax and skin studio
Alexis Corry from Lex & Lynne
MicahLynn Fowler from Bronze Coconut
Emre Basman from Armina Stone + many more!
The cover of the fourth volume is my favorite so far. It’s very different than the rest, with the cheetah almost jumping off of the page, and the bright colors. The creator of ICONs, April Hubal, got together with NYC artist, Dino Misetic, and came up with this bold design. This powerful image reflects not only what ICONs has become over the past few years, but also how it’s making it’s own path for the future, coming in fierce and bold.
Keep a look out for future events with ICONs, they’re something you don’t want to miss!
